It’s been a very exciting year for KLE. We have moved to our new location downtown, added new people to our company and worked on some really great projects!

Take a look at some of the projects that have kept us busy this year include:

University of San Diego (USD) Master Plan
The project consists of assisting with a Master Planning document for the 200-acre USD campus followed by the preparation and processing of a Conditional Use Permit with the City of San Diego.

Ballpark Village
Located directly adjacent to Petco Park, the Ballpark Village Parcel “C” project includes both seven and thirty-seven story residential towers totaling approximately 720 residential units and 55,000 sf of retail floor area.

Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) Master Plan
The Campus Transformation Project includes a multi-phased facility upgrade on the existing LLUMC campus to provide facility modernization and SB 1953 compliance.

The Heights at Del Mar
The new three-story 75,000 sf professional office building with underground parking is located in Carmel Valley and features an amenity-rich environment and collaborative indoor/outdoor workspaces.

Airborne
The new 22,000 sf mixed-use commercial building features two 30-foot high glass wind tunnels for recreational use that simulates a skydiving experience. The space will also offer guests food and beverage service.

Mountain Health & Community Services (MHCS) New Family Life Center
The new two-story 23,000 sf MHCS medical office building provides much needed healthcare to residents in Campo and the Mountain Empire region.

El Centro Regional Medical Center (ECRMC) Ancillary Building
Located on the existing ECRMC campus, the project consists of a two-story 29,000 sf Ancillary Building that supports current hospital functions and services.

Kettner & Ash
Located in San Diego’s Columbia (Waterfront) District, the project includes a 555,000 sf thirty-five story luxury condominium tower with 25,000 sf of retail space.

PREVIOUS KETTLER LEWECK ENGINEERING PROJECTS

University of San Diego – Campus Housing Fire Sprinkler System Retrofit
The project consists of assisting with a Master Planning document for the 200-acre USD campus followed by the preparation and processing of a Conditional Use Permit with the City of San Diego.

Park Boulevard – Redevelopment Project
A 10 unit urban redevelopment project located on Park Boulevard in the Uptown Community of the City of San Diego. The project includes the replacement of older existing structures with new, multi-level residential units including covered parking.

Reformation Lutheran Church and School – School Expansion
A Substantial Conformance Review (SCR) application for the existing church and school site located in the City of San Diego. The proposed project includes an expansion of the existing school, additional parking improvements to support the new expansion, and other on-site improvements.

Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla Campus – Utility Master Plan Study
A master campus utility study for the existing Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla Campus within the City of San Diego. The proposed project includes evaluating the conversion of the existing private water system with combined domestic water and fire water into two separate private systems, one for the domestic water and the second for the fire water.

Sikes Adobe Historic Farmstead – Comprehensive Site Master Plan
A comprehensive master plan for the existing historic Sikes Adobe home site located in the northern limits of the City of San Diego. The site is approximately 6 acres and lies adjacent to the Coast to Crest Trail. The proposed master plan includes a multi-use barn, outdoor event space, community garden, community orchard, multi-use space, parking, and trial connections.

Pacific Highway and Broadway, San Diego, CA

Pacific Highway and West Broadway – Redevelopment Project
Working in conjunction with KPF – Design Architect, CDA – Architect of Record and Bosa- Owner, this proposed project is a 1.4 acre redevelopment project located within the Marina Planned District in Downtown San Diego. Generally located at the southeast corner of Pacific Highway and West Broadway, the proposed project consists of an approximately 41-story, 232 unit condominium with retail space over subterranean parking. Estimated to cost $250 million dollars, the iconic building will have bay views and is adjacent to the newly construct NEVP waterfront project.

Paseo Point – Redevelopment Project
Located in the heart of the City of Vista’s redevelopment area, this 1.7 AC project consists of 69 affordable housing apartments and 3,505 square feet of retail space and 13,001square feet of commercial office space. In addition, this project includes a 0.7 AC park and is located adjacent to the City of Vista’s South Santa Fe roadway realignment and beautification project. The City explains the overall vision for the project is “to develop a vibrant and energetic mixed use destination, orientated hospitality district which will become a show case for North County.”

La Jolla’s Children’s Pool Lifeguard Station-Public Works
The proposed project is a state-of-the-art lifeguard station with two observation towers, street-level floor plan, a first-aid station and public restrooms on the lower floor with showers, sinks and drinking fountains. The project includes coordination with the structural engineer involved in the design of a retaining wall along the ocean bluff, as well as detailed coordination with the contractor/design team to meet the constraints of seal’s pupping season, in order to complete the construction of the project.
